The surgery was carried out at Emmanuel Refuge Clinic in Tamale in the Northern Region.
The beneficiary, madam Kumbayere Basigna Janet is a resident of Yipala, a community in the West Gonja municipality of the Savannah Region.
The Damongo lawmaker got wind of her predicament during a tour of the constituency in February and tasked the Municipal Chief Executive of the area to on his behalf seek medical attention for the patient at his cost.
In an interview with Kasha News after paying the patient a visit at the hospital in Tamale, the Municipal Chief Executive for West Gonja, Musah Karim Kusubari said the benevolence of the MP does not amaze him any longer.
Mr. Kusubari asserted that the level of assistance extended to persons with health challenges in the constituency by the MP is unmatched and has become one too often.
According to him, the lawmaker has taken it upon himself to always rescue persons with health challenges because he is passionate about the well-being of his constituents.
He disclosed that laboratory tests conducted on the patient came to light that she was suffering from a truncated tumor of cancer, a condition he said Doctors at the facility assured that surgery could be done at a cost of over Gh¢15,000 with medications.
Janet, beaming with smiles after a successful surgery expressed gratitude to Mr. Jinapor for rescuing her from the shackles of ill health.
She described the gesture by the Damongo MP as rare, saying that the lawmaker is a God sent and rallied constituents to support him to champion the development of the constituency.
The plastic and restructure surgeon at the Emmanuel Refuge Clinic in Tamale, Dr. Ighohwo Etuh revealed that the patient was carrying a recurring tumor in her forehead which was operated on two years ago but kept developing because the cause the tumor was not known at the time.
Dr. Etuh disclosed that before the surgery was carried on her, a laboratory test was carried on the patient, which revealed that she was carrying spindle cell sarcoma of which causes are not entirely known.
Some risk factors associated with spindle cell sarcoma he said include genetic mutations, radiation and exposure to certain chemicals.
