Ghana Blackstars Assistant Coach Pays homage to Yagbonwura

 

Assistant Coach of the Senior National team, the Blackstars of Ghana, Mas Ud Didi Dramani, on Saturday, 30th September 2023, paid a courtesy call on the king and Overlord of the Gonja, Jira Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Soale Jawu I in Damongo. 


The former Asante Kotoko coach, who won the Ghana Premier League during his stint with the club, speaking at the residence of the Overlord, mentioned that he was very grateful for the support and prayers he received from the Yagbonwura in his line of duty for Ghana.


Coach Mas Ud Didi Dramani confirmed that he was in Damongo to pay homage as a son of the land and to seek blessings from the Overlord to the Senior National team in their upcoming AFCON. 


He added that the Blackstars of Ghana will be going to Ivory Coast for the upcoming African Cup of Nations and also visit the United States of America for trial matches hence, needs special prayers and blessings from the King of the Gonja kingdom to end the cup drought of Ghana at the Senior level. 


Yagbonwura Sole Jawu I thanked him for calling on him and assured him that God would lead the Blackstars to victory in Ivory Coast. 


The overlord also confirmed that he is there for everyone within and outside of the kingdom.

Jira Bii-Kunuto Jawu I used the opportunity to call on all sons and daughters of the kingdom to kindly come on board and help raise the name of the kingdom. 


He wished the Blackstars success in their two international friendlies against Mexico and the United States of America on the 14th and 17th of October in Charlotte and Tennessee, respectively. 


Meanwhile, a passionate son of the land, Mr W.O. Samed Akunatu added that victory was a foregone conclusion to the Blackstars of Ghana in the upcoming African Cup of Nations.


According to him, anyone who called on the Yagbonwura, later enjoys the utmost success in life. 


Mas Ud Didi Dramani later visited the Damongo AstroTurf to watch DOL clubs pre-season friendly, during which Wa Suntaa Sporting Club lost (3-4) to Tamale Northern City.


Mas Ud Didi Dramani hails from the Kpembe Traditional Area of Gonja in the Savannah Region


There were a few Greater Accra Branch members of the Gonjaland Youth Association present at the residence of the King.
