Everyday life with good health is the plight of every family in the Damongo Constituency. The people are so friendly and can even gift you every political power, provided you play your cards very well. Our ladies are so beautiful and hardworking. They provide for the upkeep of their relationships whilst they men take care of other things, relatively politics and traditional and little farming.
That is the beauty of my Constituency, located at the seat capital of Savannah Region and the present day home of the overlord of the Gonja kingdom, the Yagbonwura/Yagbon skin.
Typhoid fever, a bacterial disease spread through contaminated food, water, or close contact, has been tormenting the lives of my people. The situation at St Anne's Hospital is worrisome. About 90% of patients admitted to the hospital are suffering from high fever, headache, stomach pain, and either constipation or diarrhoea
One can only draw conclusions that there's a fall in the hygienic standards of my people. Perhaps a grater blame can be attributed to the hoax of the politicians in the Damongo Constituency.
The struggles for power and the malicious deception of politicians need to be checked in my Constituency. This is the Damongo Constituency that everything is possible interms of power switch. The current leadership should up their abilities and rescue our people from the water crisis. We are virtually drinking faeces. We need good portable water.
Hon Adam Mutawakilu wasn't voted out because of development. Let the records be set that he really performed creditable well on health, education, and electricity. The capital projects speak for themselves. He lost the Damongo seat because of the alleged "Greed of people around him" and also his decision to always cut off ties with anyone who dared cross his lane" forever. If he can work on these issues, then he can hope for a possible comeback.
Meanwhile, Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor has so far played to the tune of the electorates. He is doing what they people ask from him. If care is not taken, he could be deceived into believing that the people will still vote for him even if he is unable to provide them with the potable drinking water, himself, and his government promised to give to the people of Damongo.
"Apatashi" dam, EA Mahama dam, Agric dam, Sofo dam, Kpri dam, and a few mechanised boreholes serve as sources one can get water from in Damongo, Unfortunately, most of these dams have dried out. Living the people stranded and confused. School girls are being allegedly "chopped" because of the water crisis and the search for water.
Mothers are having to cue as early as 4:00 in the morning to get water for their families. Fathers are reluctant in bathing regularly due to the shortage of water at homes. In fact, many young guys you see "making noise" on social media or traditional media don't bathe regularly. The only time you see them clean and dressed up is when a big party man visit the Damongo Constituency.
Both of the NDC and NPP have so far failed in the provision of portable drinking water. Even though one party attempted closely. The people have been taking for granted for far too long.
We would not forget about all your beautiful promises and wonderful deceptions in 2024, hopefully. We will vote wisely. Damongo constituency will set a record for Ghanaians to see that we have been special in decision-making.
To all the people who are diagnosed with typhoid, kindly look for Fluoroquinolones. These antibiotics, including ciprofloxacin (Cipro)and Cephalosporins This group of antibiotics keeps bacteria from building cell walls, Macrolides. This group of antibiotics keeps bacteria from making proteins and Carbapenems. Or better still, let a physician guide you.
We will rise again. We will get potable drinking water again, like in the early 80s.
