Madam Gertrude Yentumi, the Municipal Health Director of West Gonja, has expressed concern over staff reluctance to accept postings outside the Damongo township.
During the 2023 end-of-year performance review held at the West Gonja municipal conference hall on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, Madam Yentumi highlighted the challenge faced by the health sector in staffing facilities beyond Damongo.
She was disappointed at the members declining numbers of staff outside the municipal capital, emphasizing the necessity for an equitable distribution of healthcare professionals across the municipality.
Madam Yentumi stressed that the provision of quality healthcare services extends beyond the boundaries of Damongo town and calked on. staff to also prioritize the health and well-being of all residents, irrespective of their location.
Her remarks underlined the ongoing efforts to address disparities in healthcare access and delivery within the West Gonja municipality.
According to her, she will "remain resolute in fostering a culture of professionalism and dedication among healthcare personnel to ensure equitable healthcare services for all residents in the municipality."
Meanwhile, exceptional health workers were honored with awards for their dedication and exemplary hard work in their roles.
