Generating Revenue Opportunities for Women to Improve Nutrition in Ghana, GROWING projec led women in Damongo to mark the 2024 International Day, to reaffirm its commitment to empowering women and improving nutrition.

Under the theme "Inspiring Inclusion," this year's celebration underscored the pivotal role of support from various stakeholders, including men, women, traditional leaders, and government entities, in fostering women's participation across all aspects of life.

Madam Patricia Gyan-Bassaw, the project manager of "GROWING," shared insights with Kashafmonline.com, and shed light on the project's initiatives and engagements with participants.

She highlighted the project's focus on promoting gender equality within communities and providing nutrition education to encourage the preparation of balanced meals.

The project is actively promoting joint decision-making between spouses through training sessions involving both husbands and wives, organized by local clubs.

These sessions aim to foster dialogue and understanding between partners, ultimately promoting gender equality within households.

Also, the event provided a platform for both men and women to share perspectives on measures needed to enhance inclusion across various sectors. Role-playing activities were utilized to demonstrate key concepts, encouraging active participation and dialogue among the participants.

The celebration also featured the utilization of nutritious crops advocated by the "GROWING" project in the preparation of meals, emphasizing the importance of healthy eating practices. A friendly competition between men and women further reinforced the message of gender equality and shared capabilities.

Funded by Global Affairs Canada, the "GROWING" project, launched in 2022, is a four-and-a-half-year initiative dedicated to promoting sustainable development and gender inclusion in the Savannah Region.

Through its holistic approach, the project continues to make significant progress in advancing gender equality and improving nutritional outcomes for communities.
