Division Two side Yapei United FC have qualified to play in the Division One League in Ghana for the first time after beating Tamale Soccer Angels on Wednesday at the Yendi Astro Turf.
The Savannah lads will compete in the 2024/2025 Division One League Season, having won all their three matches in the just ended Northern Region Football Association Division Two Middle League staged in Yendi.
In their quest to secure the historic promotion, Yapei United came from a goal down to beat Tamale Soccer Angels 2-1 at the Yendi Astro Turf.
Marvin Kojo Annane opened the scoring for the Angels in the 5th minute before Eugene Tsirapah equalized three minutes later.
The decisive moment came in the 82nd minute when captain of the side Abdul Mumeen Inus Musah pulled the trigger to get the winning goal for Yapei United to secure all three points, confirming their promotion to the Division One League.
