Rev. Saaka Baba Moses, an independent candidate for the 2024 parliamentary elections in the Damongo Constituency, submitted his nomination form to the Electoral Commission on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
His submission was met with enthusiastic cheers from a large group of supporters.
During the review process, Electoral Commission officials identified minor errors in the form, which he promptly corrected.
However, some key documents, including his Tax Identification Number, passport photos, and party symbol, were missing. The Commission has instructed him to submit these documents by Friday, September 13, 2024.
Accompanied by numerous supporters, Rev. Moses addressed the crowd outside the Electoral Commission office after filing his nomination. He stated that his primary motivation for running in this election was to improve the welfare of the Damongo constituency.
He criticized both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for failing to provide basic amenities, such as water, during their time in power.
Rev. Moses highlighted his connections with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), which he plans to leverage to support development in Damongo.
Although he currently resides in Tamale, he was born and raised in Damongo, with his father hailing from Bole and his mother from Busunu.
In his appeal to the electorates, he urged them to support his candidacy to bring much-needed development to the constituency.
