Addressing a gathering of sons and daughters of Gonjaland, Sandapewura urged the youth to be each other's keepers and resist the temptation to use politics as a tool for personal attacks and division.
“I am worried about the kind of politics we practice in Gonjaland. Though we are one people, our youth often destroy one another with insults and harsh words,” he lamented.
“Meanwhile, those you are fighting for are consulting and working together behind the scenes.”
He stressed the importance of setting political differences aside once elections are over and focusing on the development of Gonjaland.
“Let’s do the politics if we must, but after it ends, let’s come together and develop our land,” he advised.
He also commended both the outgoing and incoming executives of the Gonjaland Youth Association for their dedication and service.
He urged the newly sworn-in leadership to prioritize teamwork, consultation, and inclusiveness in their activities.
“Always consult and value every contribution, no matter how small. That is how we build a stronger association,” he added.
The ceremony brought together members of the association, traditional leaders, and well-wishers, and also served as a platform to raise funds in support of the association’s developmental initiatives.
