The Minister for the Interior has announced a review of the curfew hours imposed on Bole Township and its surrounding communities in the Savannah Region.
According to the Ministry, and acting on the advice of the Regional Security Council, the new curfew hours will run from *8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., effective Tuesday, September 9, 2025.*
Government has appealed to chiefs, opinion leaders, the youth, and residents to exercise restraint in the face of ongoing security challenges and to adopt non-violent approaches in resolving disputes to ensure lasting peace in the area.
The Ministry also outlined specific restrictions for residents of Bole and its environs:
- A total ban on carrying firearms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons. Persons found in possession of such items will be arrested and prosecuted.
- A prohibition on two or more persons riding on motorbikes at any time of the day.
- A ban on the wearing of war regalia throughout the day.
The statement was signed by the Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, who emphasized government’s commitment to restoring peace and stability in the Bole area.
