Faith in Action Foundation Supports Damongo Prison Inmates with Ramadan Donation

The Faith in Action Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), has donated assorted provisions to inmates at the Damongo Prison Camp in the Savannah Region as part of efforts to support vulnerable groups in society during the holy month of Ramadan.

The donation, made on March 11, 2026, forms part of the foundation’s mission to bring hope and relief to disadvantaged members of society by mobilizing resources and providing both financial and material assistance to those in need.

Speaking during the presentation, Madam Mumuni Rahinatu Denkari, a leading member of the organization, said the foundation was established to support the poor, needy, orphans, and widows within communities.

She noted that the group, through the contributions of its members, was able to purchase the items to support inmates as a way of sharing with them during Ramadan.

According to her, the gesture reflects the organization’s commitment to reaching out to vulnerable groups and ensuring that they feel remembered and supported during significant moments such as the fasting period.

The inmates, while expressing appreciation for the donation, appealed to the general public to extend further support to the facility, particularly in the areas of foodstuffs and medicines to help improve healthcare services within the prison.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Officer in Charge, CSP Amatus Siekure, ASP Abigail Doudu expressed gratitude to the foundation for selecting the Damongo Prison Camp as beneficiaries of the donation.

She noted that the support would go a long way in putting smiles on the faces of the inmates and improving their well-being.

ASP Doudu also expressed hope that the gesture would not be a one-time intervention but the beginning of a continued partnership between the foundation and the prison facility.
