SAVANNAH REGION NDC: DEPUTY COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER HOPEFUL PREACHES PEACE AHEAD OF CONSTITUENCY ELECTIONS

A Deputy Communications Officer hopeful for the Savannah Region, Mr. Ibrahim Haruna, popularly known as Alaji, has appealed to all aspirants contesting in the upcoming constituency elections to exercise restraint, decorum and patience in their dealings.

According to him, the constituency elections are an internal family contest and should not be allowed to create division within the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr. Haruna made the call on Thursday October 8, 2026, during an encounter with some constituency hopefuls in the regional capital Damongo. He encouraged them to respect one another's views and ensure that peace prevails throughout the electoral process.

He further urged all contestants to choose the path that unites the party despite their individual differences and personal ambitions, stressing that unity remains the greatest strength of the NDC.

"I appeal to them to work together as a unified body, before, during and after the elections. At the end of the day, we are all NDC and our common opponent is outside, not within,"  he stated.

He expressed confidence that the Savannah Region will once again conduct a peaceful and successful election that will serve as an example to other regions.

He called on party executives, delegates and supporters to prioritize the interest of the party above all else.
