The Savannah Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party NPP, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana popularly known as Kalamonia has donated assorted items to two different orphanages to mark his birthday.
The maverick politician whose birthday was on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, donated to the Redemption Children's Home in Damongo, and Mother and Child Orphanage Home at Nakwabi in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region.
The items presented to the aforementioned institutions included cartons of drinks, bags of 50kg rice amongst others.
The donations were made on behalf of the Regional Chairman by officers of his party in Damongo and Nakwabi.
Making the donation at Nakwabi, the constituency chairman of NPP for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba, Fuseini Mohammed commended the staff of the institution for their sacrifices and urged them not to renege on their efforts to cater for the children under their care.
Rev. Sister Jane who received the donation on behalf of the Mother and Child Orphanage expressed appreciation to Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana for remembering them on the occasion of his birthday.
She also prayed for him and asked God to replenish the gesture extended to them in many folds.
The Electoral Area Coordinator for Lagbonto-Zongo, Ayaana Soale who presented the items to the Redemption Children's Home in Damongo revealed that the welfare of children is of extreme interest to the chairman of the party in the region adding that Kalamonia will continue to be of assistance to them.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Home, Pastor Abraham was full of praise for Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana for his benevolence.
In addition, the veteran politician also donated undisclosed amount of money to some Islamic clerics in all the seven constituencies in the region to aid in taking care of children brought from various communities to study the holy Quran.
In a similar fashion, he donated an undisclosed amount of money the widow and children of a polling station executive of the party in the Salaga North constituency who was killed by suspected armed robbers a few weeks ago.
