Yapei-Kusawgu MP donates to flood victims in Buipe

The Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu constituency, John Abdulai Jinapor, has extended a helping hand to alleviate the suffering of flood victims in Buipe.

The town and two other communities have been severely impacted by destructive floods, resulting in the displacement of over a thousand people in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region.

The donation comes after Mr. Jinapor visited the affected area and assessed the extent of damage and the dire circumstances under which the displaced persons lived.

Relief items donated by the MP to ease the burden on the affected people included 100 bags of rice, 20 curtains of cooking oil, 20 boxes of soap, 20 boxes of drinking water, and others.

Presenting the items to the victims,  Mr. Jinapor assured them of his commitment to the welfare of his constituents in times like this by assisting them in the best possible way that he can and that he will stand by their side in times of adversity.

He reaffirmed the importance of strong and compassionate leadership in times of crisis.

"I want to eassure you that you are not alone in this struggle to recover and rebuild your lives, we are in it together and I will assist in anyway that I can."

Mr. Jinapor also shared his intentions to engage with other stakeholders to explore ways of ending the perennial situation.

"We are going to engage the necessary stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the flooding solution, whiles we are at it, let me appeal to all of us to avoid building on waterways or areas that can easily flood in the future."
