MTN Ghana, through its Foundation on Tuesday, December 26 celebrated the 2023 Christmases with new born babies at the St. Anne's hospital in Damongo in the Savannah region.
The Telco giant distributed hampers to mothers who gave birth on Christmas day at the hospital as part of the annual event instituted by MTN in 2011.
The team from MTN later proceeded to the Salaga District Hospital in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region where another set of hampers were distributed to mothers with new born babies.
The hampers distributed contained detergents, baby clothing, hand sanitizer, baby oil, and among other items.
Mr. Mathew Abugbilla, the Territory controller on MTN Ghana in the Savannah Region told kashafmonline.com on the sidelines of the event in Damongo that the gesture is an annual tradition which forms part of the company's cooperate social responsibilities.
He expressed delight and commitment of the company of bringing joy to babies born on Christmas day in the country.
Mr. Mathew appealed to the nursing mothers to put the hampers into effective use and ensure the healthy growth of their children.
Madam Felicia Saabome who is the In-charge of the maternity ward on behalf of the hospital and the benefuciary mothers conveyed gratitude to MTN Ghana for the gesture.
On every Boxing Day in the last 9 years, the MTN Ghana Foundation visits hospitals across the country and hand out hampers to mothers that gave birth on December 25.
