The Minister of Savannah Region, Saeed Muhazu Jibril has told Kasha Fm that politics is about timing and that his time to contest the Damongo is yet to come.
Speaking exclusively on Kasha FM's Ashumaa Savannah with Mudasiru Afari Techi on Monday 25th March, Mr. Muhazu said God would make everything possible in his own appointed time.
He made the comments in response to questions on why he did not pick forms to contest in the just ended internal elections of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Damongo Constituency.
The Damongo Constituency seat is currently occupied by Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, who doubles as the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources.
He went unopposed and would lead the elephant party again in the December polls in the constituency to battle with experienced former ranking member of Parliament for Energy and Mines committee and Member of Parliament for the Damongo, Adam Mutawakilu who he defeated in 2020.
On what he would be measured by as a regional minister, he stated that human capacity building is something he has always lived for.
He noted that budgets are not allocated to coordinating councils but out of his lobbying skills, he has been able to bring on board the "Secondary City project" to execute a few projects in Damongo and that the Almanara gutter construction is one of them.
Hon Saeed Muhazu Jibril again stated that the secondary city would build banking halls and story buildings around the Damongo community centre in about three (3) months time and construct a junior high school at Gurupe community with a twelve(12) seater toilet facility.
On lack of medical doctors in Savannah Region, he mentioned that it was hugely because of the ownership of the Damongo hospital impasse, which led to many medical practitioners being relieved of their duties.
According to him, he has to work very hard with Bole and Central Gonja Districts to get accommodations so that we can maintain the highly Ganacologist and other professionals in the region.
