Open letter to Damongo MP by Umar Abdu-Shakur

MP FOR DAMONGO DISREGARDS THE SUFFERING OF HIS CONSTITUENTS DURING WATER CRISIS.

Dear MP for Damongo ( lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor)

I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding your apparent disregard for the well-being of your constituents during our ongoing water crisis. Despite repeated attempts to bring this critical issue to you and your boss , your lack of action and indifference towards the suffering of our constituency is unacceptable.

You and the President have deceived us by ceremoniously cutting sod on the 29th July, 2020, yet there has been no tangible progress or action following the event.

Access to clean water is not a luxury; it is a basic human right that many in our constituency are being denied. Families are struggling, health is at risk, and livelihoods are being jeopardized due to the inadequacy of portable drinking water.

As our elected representative, it is your duty to advocate for and address the needs of the people you serve. Your failure to acknowledge and act upon the water crisis reflects a profound neglect of your responsibilities and a betrayal of the trust reposed in you by your constituents.

I demand that you immediately prioritize the water crisis in the Damongo constituency and take decisive action to rectify this dire situation. Damongo constituency deserves better than being ignored and left to suffer while you turn a blind eye to our struggles.

Since your election, there has been no follow-up or discussion from you regarding the water crisis in parliament.

You have ultimately distributed contaminated water, leading to cases of typhoid among the population.

The money you went round over the last weekend to share to the electorates of the Attributo Electoral Area could provide 5 mechanized boreholes for that electoral, which would have been enough to abate their struggles. You gave each person GHC 50 and some cases, GHC 100 and GHC 150. We have about 1,600 electorates in Attributo alone. Just multiply GHC 50 by these number.

If it weren't for the former MP's provision of clean water, many people would likely have been hospitalized by now. Thank you, former MP (Garlus)

I urge you to reconsider your priorities and demonstrate genuine concern for the welfare of the people you were elected to represent. Anything less is a dereliction of duty and a betrayal of the trust reposed in you by the electorate.

Sincerely,

Umar Abdu-shakuru, Deputy regional Tein coordinator for savannah Region.
