Damongowura Affirms: Ignore Warmongers' Rumors, Damongo Remains Peaceful

Damongowura Seidu Kelly Boresa (I) Has affirmed the state of peace in Damongo amidst speculations of unrest and political interference. 


Speaking on Monday, 1st April 2024, the paramount chief clarified that he is the sole recognized Paramount Chief in the Damongo traditional council, having received legitimate recognition from the Kuntunkura gate and the Gonja Traditional Council under the leadership of Jira Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jawu Soale (I) and their council of elders.


During a press briefing conveyed by Mr. Jamani Hadi on behalf of Damongowura Kelly Seidu Boresa (I), it was highlighted that Damongowura Seidu Kelly Boresa (I) has been diligently fulfilling his responsibilities and is held in high esteem by his subjects and supporters.


The statement revealed that shortly after his affirmation, Damongowura Seidu Kelly Boresa (I) oversaw the enskinment of six chiefs and two Queen mothers, with plans for additional enskinments already approved.


However, concerns were raised about alleged threats to Damongo's peace, particularly attributed to Mr. Tahiru and his associates. The statement urged security forces to be vigilant and address any activities that could jeopardize the region's stability.


Furthermore, individuals claiming the Damongowura title were labeled as warmongers and cautioned against it. The statement emphasized the importance of upholding law and order in the country.


The briefing also accused certain politicians in Damongo of interference, bias, and aligning with political forces. It emphasized the distinction between chieftaincy matters and politics, stressing the commitment to safeguarding tradition against external influences.
