The Ghana Football Association recently hosted a talent identification training program for Northern scouts comprising Upper West, Upper East, and Northern region in Bolgatanga, Ghana, in partnership with FIFA. The event took place at the prestigious Akayet Hotel on 4th April 2024. The training is meant to equip the scouts with new techniques and strategies for scouting potential young talent.
The training program aimed to equip scouts with the necessary skills to identify and nurture promising young football players in the Northern sector.
The GFA is constantly on the lookout for new talent to develop and eventually represent the country on the international stage, and that's the reason the Association established an elite soccer centre of excellence in Winkogo, Bolgatanga.
The Academy is currently housing about twenty-seven (27) boys and fourteen girls (14).
The participants were put through rigorous training drills and workshops that focused on techniques for evaluating talent, understanding player development, and building strong relationships with young players and their families.
Present at the ceremony are the GFA technical director Professor Mintah and his staff, Upper East RFA chairman, Salifu Zida, and other football ethnusiast.
The Ghana Football Association is committed to developing football talent at all levels, and events like the talent identification training program in Bolgatanga are crucial in ensuring that young players have the opportunity to showcase their skills and potentially make it to the professional level.
