In a shocking revelation, Bryan Achampong, a Member of Parliament for Abetifi who previously served as a minister of state at the national security ministry and now Minister for Food and Agriculture under the Nana Akufo-Addo government, has made a disturbing statement regarding the upcoming 2024 presidential elections.

Bryan Achampong boldly claimed that although he believes the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will emerge victorious in the 2024 general elections, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will refuse to hand over power to the National democratic congress (NDC).

This alarming revelation demands urgent attention from the Ghana Police and international security agencies, as Bryan Achampong's track record reveals a dangerous character who has already unleashed violence on innocent Ghanaian citizens.

It is important to note that Bryan Achampong was directly responsible for the disturbing incident that took place during the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency by-election in 2019.

This act of violence resulted in the intimidation and harm inflicted upon innocent people. By allowing such an individual to occupy positions of power, we are risking the safety and well-being of the Ghanaian population.

Therefore, it is crucial that the Ghana Police and international security agencies closely monitor Bryan Achampong until the conclusion of the 2024 general elections.

Achampong's recent comment must not be dismissed as a mere careless remark. Considering the violent history of the 2020 general elections, in which eight people lost their lives as the NPP sought to retain power, his words should be taken seriously. Such a statement from a dangerous figure is not just a casual observation but a threatening promise.

It blatantly undermines Ghana's democracy and suggests a blatant disregard for the will of the people.Bryan Achampong's comment serves as a harrowing threat to the democratic principles Ghana holds dear.

It sends shockwaves through the nation as we brace for a potential outbreak of violence during and after the upcoming general elections. The citizens of Ghana should not be made to live in fear, manipulated by the words of an individual with an apparent agenda that jeopardizes the very foundations on which our democracy stands.

Achampong's audacious statement has undoubtedly generated fear and panic among the citizenry.

Our unity as a nation, painstakingly built over many years, is at risk of being shattered by the divisive rhetoric of individuals with ulterior motives. It is crucial for citizens to remain vigilant, but we should not allow fear to cloud our judgment or deter us from exercising our democratic rights.

In light of Achampong's reckless pronouncements, it is imperative that influential bodies such as the National Peace Council, the Christian Council, Bishops Conference, traditional leaders and the Islamic Council of Ghana speak out against his statements.

By calling attention to the gravity of his remarks, these organizations can serve as a united front in denouncing the dangerous rhetoric perpetuated by Achampong, thereby safeguarding our democratic principles and protecting the welfare of the Ghanaian population.

The National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) resolved to match the NPP "boot for boot" to protect the will of the people is a testament to the grave concerns surrounding the integrity of our electoral process.

Achampong's comments serve only to further stoke tensions and prepare the minds of Ghanaians for potential violence during and after the upcoming elections. Finally, the recent comments made by Hon.

Bryan Achampong are not to be taken lightly, as they put at risk the very democratic values that Ghana cherishes. His association with previous acts of violence underscores the urgency of closely monitoring his activities until the conclusion of the 2024 general elections.

We call upon the Ghana Police and international security agencies to exercise utmost vigilance and take necessary steps to ensure the safety and well-being of the Ghanaian people.

Additionally, it is essential for esteemed organizations such as the National Peace Council, the Christian Council, Bishops Conference, and the Islamic Council of Ghana to unambiguously condemn Achampong's reckless pronouncements.

Only through united action can we preserve our democracy and safeguard the harmony and prosperity of our cherished nation.
