Gonjaland artist Jebuni sparked controversy during a recent radio interview on Kasha FM's "SAVANNAH SHOWBIZ" on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
The seasoned rapper voiced his dissatisfaction with the current state of rap music in the Savannah region, citing a lack of quality and talent among the new generation of rappers.
During the interview, Jebuni asserted that he was the pioneer of rap music in Gonjaland and expressed disappointment that since he departed from the music scene, there has been no worthy successor to carry on his legacy.
He emphasized that his album "Mba" aimed to challenge the misconception that rapping in Gonja is challenging and had hoped that subsequent artists would follow suit, but he feels that this has not been the case.
In a bold declaration, Jebuni announced his intention to make a comeback to the music industry, stating, "I left the rap music scene expecting others to make an impact, but it appears they have not utilized the opportunity. I will return and reclaim my position."
When questioned about prominent rappers like Legxicon and Olaadis, Jebuni acknowledged listening to their music but criticized it as substandard, asserting that all Gonjaland rappers remain in the underground music scene.
Additionally, Jebuni advised fellow artists to refrain from charging their peers for performances, stating that Gonjaland's music industry has not yet reached a stage where such practices are warranted.
Jebuni's comments have sparked discussions within the music industry, with many debating the state of Gonjaland's rap scene and eagerly anticipating his return to the forefront of the industry.
