The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Damongo Constituency has raised serious concerns about the government's "Performance Tracker" app, launched by the Nana Addo/Bawumia administration.
The app, aimed at showcasing the government's achievements since 2017, has faced criticism for its lack of transparency and functionality.
The undisclosed cost of developing the app has sparked questions about its value for taxpayer money. IT experts have labeled the app as non-user-friendly, falling below even basic undergraduate project standards.
Within just 48 hours of its launch, the app has encountered 67 errors, exposing fundamental flaws in its design and implementation. This has led to accusations of gross incompetence and deception from the NDC, given the government's emphasis on digitalization.
The NDC's Communication Bureau in Damongo has conducted a thorough review of the Performance Tracker and uncovered several discrepancies. These include nonexistent projects, abandoned initiatives, and misleading information that does not accurately reflect the ground realities.
Key projects addressing Damongo's water challenges were notably missing from the tracker, despite assurances from government officials. This omission has been criticized as a failure and deception on the part of the government.
The tracker also lists projects that cannot be found on the ground, indicating a lack of respect and transparency. Projects such as road constructions, seed production developments, and telephony initiatives were flagged as falsely reported as completed.
Additionally, the NDC found misleading entries such as a TVET classroom block that doesn't exist and non-functional boreholes, raising concerns about the mismanagement of public funds.
Abandoned projects, including a CHPS compound and a classroom block, further highlight the gap between promises and actual delivery.
The NDC calls for transparency and accountability in public spending, urging voters to reconsider their support for the ruling party. They advocate for the return of John Dramani Mahama as President and Hon. Adam Mutawakilu Garlus as the Member of Parliament for Damongo, citing the need for real development and honest leadership.
This exposes a sharp discrepancy between the NDC's Green Book, which outlines actual achievements, and what they describe as a deceptive and incompetent government.
