The Member of Parliament for the Damongo constituency, Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, took charge of supervising key developmental projects in Damongo on Friday, April 12, 2024.

Among the projects he supervised were the cassava processing factory under the One District, One Factory (1D1F) initiative and the ongoing rehabilitation of the Damongo agric dam.

Mr. Jinapor highlighted the significance of these projects, particularly the dam's rehabilitation aimed at increasing storage capacity during the rainy season to address the water scarcity issues in Damongo township.

The dam's revitalization is paramount not only for water management but also for supporting irrigation farming, thus benefiting the community.

The Lands Minister also supervised the cassava processing factory, a flagship 1D1F project nearing completion and awaiting commissioning. He emphasized the positive impact of the factory on the constituency's economic landscape, especially in empowering farmers and women in the constituency.

Karim Musah Kusubari, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the West Gonja, shared insights with the media regarding the factory's readiness for commissioning saying final touches, and electricity extension and installation, were still in progress.

Infrastructure enhancements, including extending electricity supply to the factory with the provision of a transformer and meter, are underway to pave the way for full operation.

According to the MCE, the commissioning of the factory is anticipated soon.
