Adam Mutawakilu, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Damongo constituency, has urged voters to reject the influence of money in the upcoming elections.
Speaking at the party's campaign launch in Damongo, the Savannah Regional Capital, Garlus urged the electorates to focus on candidates who can deliver lasting development rather than those who offer short-term cash.
“If money distribution could make us rich, we would have been wealthy in 2020,” he stated, advising voters to accept any money offered, spend it, but vote wisely for capable leaders.
He said voters should take the money and spend it, as it is the same money that should have been used to provide potable water and construct roads, but is instead being distributed to buy votes.
He pointed out that damaged boreholes in the constituency remain unfixed, and the Fufulso-Sawla road, which needs attention, has been left abandoned.
He urged voters to make campaigning a daily routine, as he alone cannot be everywhere, and called on them to act as agents of change for both Ghana and the Damongo constituency.
He encouraged everyone to take responsibility for explaining to others why they should vote to bring back John Dramani Mahama and himself to lead the development of the constituency and Ghana as a whole.
