Former President John Dramani Mahama has donated GH₵200,000 (2 billion old Ghana cedis) to the Yagbonwura Educational Fund.
The contribution followed his courtesy visit to the King and Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, Yagbonwura, during which he expressed his strong support for education in the Savannah region.
Mahama emphasized the transformative power of education, stating that without it, he would not have achieved his current status.
He praised Yagbonwura's initiative to improve education in the region, calling it a timely and critical intervention.
The former president further pledged to continue supporting the educational sector, especially in the Savannah region, and hinted that if elected in 2024, he would expand his efforts to ensure greater access to quality education for all.
