In a campaign rally at Mankarigu in the Daboya-Mankarigu Constituency, former President John Dramani Mahama promised to absorb the Daboya College of Education into the public school system if elected in the 2024 general elections.
The rally, part of his Savannah Region campaign tour, saw Mahama outline plans to upgrade the institution with facilities, to enable the college to provide government-supported higher education for aspiring teachers.
Mahama also committed to improving infrastructure in the district by constructing roads from Yabaga to Funbisi and from Sandema to Yabaga, aiming to enhance safety and productivity in the area.
Recognizing the district's agricultural potential, Mahama further promised to establish a farming support system equipped with tractors, ploughs, harrows, and planters to boost agricultural production.
During the rally, Mahama took the opportunity to educate voters on the voting process, urging them to support his presidential bid and vote for Lawyer Shaibu Obey, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for the constituency.
