Damongo NPP Financier Admonishes Voters to Choose NDC in upcoming elections

A staunch member of the New Patriotic Party in the Damongo constituency who has been the party's financier since 2000, Nana Yaw Aboagye, has called on all and sundry in the Damongo constituency to vote massively for H E John Dramani Mahama to be the next president and Hon. Adam Mutawakilu as the next member of parliament.

Speaking on Kasha 99.5 FM, Nana Yaw Aboagye, who funded the late Alex Sofo and Albert Diwura in the 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2020 elections, criticized the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia-led NPP for collapsing businesses like his own.

He accused appointees of hoarding money and sharing it among themselves.

He referenced how everything has changed under the NPP government as they promised more and did little.

He further stated that there is a need for the Savannah region to vote for the NDC to bring back their son, John Mahama, into government.

"I have been a loyal member of my political party for many years, but recent events have made me question my loyalty and ultimately led me to abandon my party."

"Firstly, I cannot continue to support a party that has consistently failed to deliver on its promises of development and progress for our country. Despite being in power for several years, the government has not been able to address pressing issues such as poverty, unemployment, and education reform."

He also added that the lack of progress is not only disappointing but also detrimental to the well-being of citizens. "The party I once believed in and supported heavily for its transparency and accountability has become entangled in numerous scandals and corruption cases.

It is disheartening to witness my party leaders involved in embezzlement, accepting bribes, and engaging in backroom deals for personal gain. These actions undermine the core values of democracy and betray the trust of the people who voted for them."

Moreover, the hypocrisy within my party has become impossible to ignore. While it claims to champion equality and justice, it continues to turn a blind eye to discrimination and injustice in our society.

The leadership has shown little commitment to addressing systemic issues like racism, sexism, and income inequality. It is clear that the party's actions do not match its words, and I can no longer support such blatant hypocrisy.

As a citizen, I must hold my government accountable and support leaders like John Dramani Mahama and the NDC, who have the best interests of the country at heart.

Therefore, I have made the difficult decision to leave my political party and seek alternatives that align with my values and the future of our nation.

It is time for change, and I believe that change begins with me standing up against a party that has failed in its responsibilities and betrayed the trust of its supporters.
