Kwapia Hene Nana Yaw Aboagye has expressed his intention to summon his younger brother, Nana Kwame Aboagye, following an alleged disrespectful remark made by the latter during a radio program in Damongo.
In the broadcast, Nana Kwame Aboagye referred to his elder brother as a liar, a comment that angered Chief Yaw Aboagye II.
The chief, a prominent figure in the Asante Kingdom, responded sternly, stating, “As a chief, it is strictly forbidden to respond negatively to my words, regardless of whether you agree with them or not.”
In a show of authority, Nana Yaw Aboagye added, "I will punish him for his disrespect by presenting him with four sheep and other customary objects, in line with tradition."
The rift between the brothers appears to have stemmed from differing political views.
Chief Yaw Aboagye had publicly endorsed Hon. Adam Mutawakilu and former President John Dramani Mahama, urging the people of Damongo to vote in large numbers in support of the candidates.
This endorsement reportedly did not sit well with Nana Kwame Aboagye, who subsequently took to the media to voice his disagreement.
As tensions rise between the two brothers, the public awaits further developments in this ongoing family dispute.
