Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale (I), the King and Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, organized a Quranic recitation at his private residence in Damongo on Saturday, November 24, 2024.
The event aimed to seek Allah’s blessings for peaceful elections on December 7.
Addressing the media afterward, the Yagbonwura’s spokesperson, Benkurowura Saaka Mahama, emphasized the Quran's significance in resolving challenges and ensuring harmony.
"The Yagbonwura believes the Quran holds answers to all problems. This gathering is to recite it and seek God’s protection and guidance," he stated.
The ceremony was attended by several notable figures, including Jira Damongowura Kelly Seidu Boresa I and his sub-chiefs.
Also present were political leaders Alhaji Ibrahim Baba Zakaria (Original Zack) of the NDC and Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana of the NPP.
