Addressing the traditional leaders and Imams, Mahama credited his success to their prayers and unwavering support.

He emphasized that his victory transcends political divisions, symbolizing unity and progress for both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mahama revealed that shortly after his win, the Yagbonwura sent a delegation to congratulate him as a proud son and grandson of the Gonja Kingdom.

In response, he deemed it a duty to personally return the gesture and thank the kingdom for its immense backing during the electoral period.

As part of the visit, the president-elect officially invited the Yagbonwura to attend his swearing-in ceremony scheduled for January 7, 2025, at Independence Square.

In a speech delivered by the Yagbonwuras spokesperson, Benkurowura, the Yagbonwura congratulated President-elect John Dramani Mahama on his resounding victory.

The Yagbonwura conveyed to the President-elect that, as he embarks on this new chapter, he has entered into a social contract with the people of Ghana.

This contract requires dedicated individuals in key positions to help fulfill the expectations of the citizens.

He therefore urged the President-elect to appoint individuals with integrity and a genuine commitment to serve in his administration, as the hopes and dreams of Ghanaians rest on his shoulders.
