Deputy Lands Minister Inaugurates Upper West Regional Lands Commission Board

 

The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Yusif Sulemana, has inaugurated an 18-member board for the Upper West Regional Lands Commission.

The inauguration ceremony took place on Friday, May 9, 2025, with the newly constituted board comprising representatives of Municipal and District Assemblies, key institutions, and traditional authorities, in line with legal requirements.

Mr. Iddrisu Mujamilu, Esq. was named as the chairman of the board.

In his address, Hon. Sulemana urged the board members to uphold integrity and serve in the best interest of the people they represent.

He cautioned against conflicts of interest and emphasized the importance of transparency in the discharge of their duties.

“Many qualified individuals expressed interest in serving on the board, but not everyone was selected. 

You have been chosen to serve, and that responsibility must be taken seriously,” he stated.

The Deputy Minister also underscored the need for regular consultation with traditional authorities on land administration issues to ensure inclusive and effective governance.
