MTN Ghana has made a big move to empower small business owners in Damongo, the Savannah regional capital, to close the digital divide and advance economic inclusion.
A two-day training program was planned for local beauticians, dressmakers, hairdressers, and tailors as part of the company's annual employee volunteerism initiative, "21 Days of Y'ello Care."
The workshop's goal, which was held at the Church of Pentecost in Damongo, was to provide these knowledgeable staff members with the know-how and abilities they need to sell and publicize their services on social media.
A variety of subjects were covered in the seminar, such as using promotions to draw clients, displaying gowns and hairstyles on different social media channels, and producing interesting content to increase sales.
Launched in 2007, the 21 Days of Y'ello Care campaign has grown to become one of MTN's most prominent CSR programs. The company's dedication to addressing digital inequality, especially in rural, isolated, and marginalized communities, is highlighted by this year's theme, "Connecting at the Root: Connecting Communities Through the Use of Digital Tools."
MTN Ghana's Retail Experience Manager, Mr. Kwami Aseye Akude, claims that the campaign does more than merely offer connectivity. He declared, "Our goal is to enable communities to engage in the digital economy fully." “We can help small business owners take charge of their future and enhance their economic prospects by giving them access to digital tools and training.”
