Savannah Region: 6,826 Candidates Sit for 2025 BECE

 




A total of 6,826 candidates from both public and private schools are taking part in the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) across the Savannah Region.


According to data from the Ghana Education Service, the distribution of candidates by municipality and district is as follows:

 

1. Bole District – 1,402 candidates (5 centres)

 

2. Central Gonja District – 1,265 candidates (4 centres)

 

3. East Gonja Municipal – 1,186 candidates (4 centres)

 

4. Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District – 1,102 candidates (5 centres)

 

5. West Gonja Municipal – 983 candidates (3 centres)

 

6. North East Gonja District – 475 candidates (2 centres)

 

7. North Gonja District – 413 candidates (2 centres)

 


As part of efforts to monitor the conduct of the exams, a team led by the Savannah Regional Director of Education, Mr. Bright A. Lawoe, paid a visit to the Damongo SHS examination centre. 


He was accompanied by Mr. Issahaku Iddisha, West Gonja Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Akuro Amos Seidu, Regional Exams Officer, and Mr. Kpiirika Jatuat, Regional Public Relations Officer.

 

In his interaction with the candidates, Mr. Lawoe encouraged them to approach the exams with confidence and discipline. 


He urged them to excel and raise the flag of the region high, noting that the Savannah Region is the home of the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and that their success would be a source of pride for the entire region.

 

He advised invigilators to ensure the examinations are conducted without malpractice and in accordance with the Ghana Education Service (GES) guidelines.

 

He therefore wished all the candidates the best of luck in their exams.
