The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Savannah Region has extended significant support to the family of a fallen party member, providing GH₵30,000 in start-up capital and a confirmed job opportunity for the widow of 35-year-old comrade Munkaila, who died during the 2024 general elections in Damongo.
The intervention was initiated by the Regional Youth Organizer, Alhaji Inusah who also serves as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority and his team, after expressing deep concern for the welfare of the bereaved family. They reached out to senior party leaders for assistance.
Their appeal received swift and compassionate responses from the Member of Parliament for Bole–Bamboi and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, together with the Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited and 2024 NDC parliamentary candidate, Hon. Adam Mutawakilu. The two leaders jointly funded the entire support package.
The GH₵30,000 donation is expected to help the family reestablish a stable livelihood, while the secured job within the community security service offers long-term economic relief and dignity.
The package was presented to the constituency chairman, Sulemana Abdulai, and his executives, who subsequently handed it over to the widow and the family.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Mrs. Munkaila expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Savannah NDC youth wing for the gesture, promising to make prudent use of the support.
The party and community continue to mourn the late comrade Munkaila, whose memory remains deeply cherished.
