Lawyer Be-Awuribe Commends Savannah Security Services for Professionalism and Coordination

The Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Salisu Be-Awuribe, has commended security agencies in the region for their strong integration, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to protecting the state and serving the people of Ghana.

Speaking on Tuesday,23rd December,2025 at the Damongo Astro turf during a service march by security forces in the Savannah Region, the Minister stated that the exercise aimed to strengthen unity, coordination, and camaraderie among the various security agencies, while also reassuring residents that the services remain prepared and responsive in safeguarding lives and property.

According to Hon. Lawyer Be-Awuribe, the men and women in uniform share a common mission to defend the integrity of Ghana and serve its people, often at great personal risk.

He noted that the march was also a clear signal to residents of the Savannah Region that security agencies are united, well-coordinated, and firmly committed to the public interest.

“The men in uniform serve the people of Ghana, and in the discharge of that responsibility, they put their lives at risk for the defence of the nation,” he stated. “They are prepared to go to great lengths to protect the state, and this has been clearly demonstrated here in the Savannah Region.”

The Regional Minister cited the ethnic conflict that occurred between August and September as a major test of the region’s security architecture, noting that the professionalism, cooperation, and swift response of the security agencies prevented the situation from escalating.

“I can say without hesitation that if any security personnel in any part of the country are not living up to their responsibilities, it is certainly not the case in the Savannah Region,” he said. “Security agencies here have demonstrated perfect integration, outstanding cooperation, and strong camaraderie with the people.”

Hon. Be-Awuribe further disclosed that as part of ongoing operations against illegal mining (galamsey), 18 excavators have been seized in the region.

He praised the security agencies for their firm stance, describing the action as critical to environmental protection and the preservation of livelihoods.

He also conveyed the appreciation of President John Dramani Mahama, stating that the President is proud of the dedication, discipline, and sacrifices of security personnel serving in the Savannah Region.

The Regional Minister emphasized the importance of mutual respect between civilians and security officers, stressing that effective security and peaceful coexistence depend on cooperation and understanding.

He urged residents to respect security personnel in the lawful execution of their duties, while reminding officers to uphold the rights and dignity of the people they serve.

He described the service march as not only a display of strength but also a symbol of solidarity between the security agencies and the communities they protect, reinforcing public confidence in the Savannah Region’s security framework and commitment to peace.
