West Gonja YEA Director Hands Over POS and CMFR Officers to Duty Units

The West Gonja Municipal Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Mr. Hamidu Abdalah, has officially handed over newly recruited Prisons Officers Support (POS) and Community Medical First Respondents (CMFR) to their respective duty stations in the municipality.

Addressing the officers during the first handover ceremony at the Prisons Yard, Mr. Abdalah expressed appreciation to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) and the Constituency Chairman for their support.

He urged the officers to demonstrate discipline, commitment, and hard work in the discharge of their duties.

“We are officially handing you over to your respective units, and we urge you to remain disciplined and hardworking as you have always been,” he said.

Mr. Abdalah explained that the deployment serves as a stepping stone for beneficiaries who aspire to join the permanent security services, noting that their conduct and work ethic would be assessed as part of the recruitment process.

Receiving the officers on behalf of the Ghana Prisons Service, the Officer-in-Charge of Agriculture and Second-in-Command (2IC), Chief Superintendent of Prisons (CSP) Isaac Tetteh, welcomed them and encouraged them to remain committed and disciplined.

He assured the officers of proper orientation before the commencement of duties and advised them to seek guidance whenever necessary.

CSP Tetteh further disclosed that the facility is expected to begin receiving inmates by January or towards the end of January 2026.

Meanwhile, officers deployed to the Savannah Regional Ambulance Service were received by the Regional Commander and Acting Regional Administrator, Mr. Musah Karim Techi.

He welcomed the officers and encouraged them to develop a strong passion for their work.

“Being here gives you the opportunity to be assessed and recommended for the main training to become permanent staff,” he noted, cautioning against focusing solely on financial rewards without dedication to duty.

The exercise took place on Monday, December 22, 2025, and was witnessed by some NDC constituency executives.
