In a timely intervention to revive sporting activities at Damongo Senior High School, Alhaji Alhassan Sulemana, popularly known as Alhaji Alan Cash, an old student from the 1998 year group, donated a hand-push lawn mower to the school on Monday, January 12, 2026, to help maintain the school field.
The donation was made in response to an appeal by the Physical Education and Health Department, which had faced persistent challenges in maintaining the field due to prolonged weed overgrowth, making it unsuitable for regular sporting and physical education activities.
The newly donated lawn mower is expected to bring significant relief to the department by ensuring that the field is regularly cleared and kept in good condition for effective teaching, learning, and sporting activities.
Speaking on the donation, members of the department expressed their appreciation, noting that the mower will greatly enhance teaching and learning, as well as increase students’ participation in physical activities.
In addition to the lawn mower, Alhaji Alhassan Sulemana further pledged his support to the department with two sets of jerseys and footballs, a gesture expected to further strengthen sports activities and motivate students.
The lawn mower was officially presented to the school by Chief Abdallah Ahmed (Monor) on behalf of Alhaji Alhassan Sulemana. In his remarks, he encouraged students to take their studies seriously and work hard, reminding them that with discipline and commitment, they too would be in a position to give back to their alma mater in the future.
The Assistant Headmistress in charge of administration, Madam Abiba Asumah, on behalf of the Headmaster and school management, expressed profound gratitude to Alhaji Alan Cash for his generosity. She used the opportunity to appeal to other benevolent individuals, old students, corporate bodies, organizations, and stakeholders to support the school with donations to help improve sports facilities and equipment, and to promote holistic student development through sports.
