The Member of Parliament for Bole/Bamboi, Hon. Yussif Sulemana, has donated over 4,000 pieces of school furniture to the Bole District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) to support teaching and learning across the district.
The items were presented at a brief handing-over ceremony, where the MP said the donation forms part of a broader government policy to improve education delivery nationwide.
He noted that the intervention is intended to ease the furniture deficit in schools and create a more conducive learning environment for pupils.
“As part of government policy, I am delighted to present over 4,000 pieces of furniture to enhance education in the district. Kurabaso JHS, as a WAEC examination centre, will receive additional furniture to ensure the smooth conduct of examinations. Schools yet to benefit should be patient, as all schools will be covered in due course,” Hon. Sulemana said.
A trained teacher by profession, the MP reaffirmed his strong personal commitment to education, describing the sector as central to national development.
Receiving the furniture on behalf of GES, the Bole District Director of Education, Mr. Richard Sapaga Achinari, expressed gratitude to the MP and the government, describing the support as timely and long overdue.
“The Bole District GES has been neglected for a very long time, so this intervention has come at the right time. We are very grateful,” he stated.
Mr. Achinari further appealed for additional logistical support, including a pickup vehicle and motorbikes, to improve the mobility and effectiveness of education officers in the district.
He thanked the President of the Republic of Ghana and Hon. Yussif Sulemana for their continued support towards the development of education in the Bole District.
