The Member of Parliament for Bole Bamboi, who also serves as Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Yussif Sulemana, has donated 400 LED street lights and over 500 bags of sugar to communities within the constituency.
The donation was made on 23rd February 2026 during a brief presentation ceremony attended by the Municipal Chief Executive and Assembly Members.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Sulemana expressed appreciation to the municipal authorities for their presence and support.
He explained that after touring parts of the municipality on a motorbike the previous day, he observed that many communities, including parts of Bole township, lacked street lighting.
According to him, the provision of over 400 LED street lights is aimed at improving visibility and enhancing security in the area. He noted that improved lighting would help reduce crime and create a safer environment for residents.
In addition, the MP donated more than 500 bags of sugar to support Muslims in the municipality ahead of the fasting period.
He indicated that the gesture was inspired by Islamic teachings, encouraging those who have the means to support others during the holy month.
Hon. Sulemana emphasized that the distribution would not be based on political affiliation, stating that all Muslim beneficiaries, regardless of party lines, would receive support.
He further clarified that the items were provided from his personal resources.
