The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi, Yussif Sulemana, has cut sod for three major infrastructure projects at Bole Senior High School as part of efforts to strengthen educational facilities in the constituency.
The ceremony, held on February 18, 2026, marked the official handing over of site for the construction of a three-block Home Economics facility, an additional sickbay to enhance healthcare delivery for students, and the renovation of the school’s administration block.
Addressing the media, Hon. Sulemana stated that the projects had been awarded to Kamatey Royal Limited, an indigenous company within the community.
He urged the contractor to ensure high standards of work, cautioning that any form of substandard execution would lead to contract termination, regardless of personal affiliations.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area commended the MP for prioritizing education and pledged to closely monitor the projects to ensure quality and timely completion.
The Headmaster of the school also expressed appreciation for the intervention and assured that the facilities would be well maintained to promote a strong maintenance culture.
Network Expansion Across Six Communities
From BOSEC, the MP proceeded to inspect the installation of network towers in six communities within the constituency — Kilampobile, Chache, Bale, Gbenfu, Kiblima, and Doli.
Hon. Sulemana explained that the initiative aims to improve telecommunications connectivity, noting that poor network coverage in the past had contributed to security challenges in some areas. He recalled raising concerns in Parliament in 2022 over persistent network issues affecting the constituency.
He expressed confidence that under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama, efforts are underway to ensure that no community in Bole is left without reliable network coverage. He called on residents to cooperate with contractors to facilitate smooth project execution.
An engineer from Riame Ghana Company confirmed that previous network coverage in the area was weak but assured that the newly installed towers would provide an estimated five-kilometre coverage radius, depending on population density. He added that the infrastructure is designed to support all network providers.
The DCE acknowledged that poor connectivity had long been a major challenge and thanked the MP for working to address the issue.
Inspection of International Road Project
The MP also toured the ongoing international road project linking Ghana to Côte d’Ivoire through the Black Volta.
Hon. Sulemana explained that the road begins from the Black Volta, which forms part of the boundary between Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire.
He noted that although the Ivorian authorities had completed their section of the bridge with the expectation that Ghana would construct its portion of the road to Bole, the project stalled following a change in government.
He expressed appreciation that work has now resumed, highlighting the project’s strategic importance in strengthening trade and security ties between northern Côte d’Ivoire, southern Burkina Faso, and Ghana.
Fight Against Illegal Mining
During his visit to the Black Volta, the MP addressed concerns about illegal mining activities, particularly around the Saro Kalba area. He disclosed that 38 Blue Water Guards had earlier been deployed to protect the river from pollution.
Hon. Sulemana warned individuals engaged in illegal mining to vacate the area, stressing that authorities would intensify efforts to safeguard water bodies and forest reserves.
He appealed to the media and the public to support the fight against illegal mining, describing environmental protection as a shared responsibility.
The inspection tour forms part of the MP’s broader commitment to monitoring development projects and ensuring improved infrastructure, connectivity, and environmental sustainability across the Bole-Bamboi Constituency.
