Disunity is Costing Us – Asiedu Nketia Warns NDC Members in Damongo

The National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has expressed concern over internal divisions within the party in the Damongo Constituency, warning that disunity is weakening the NDC’s political fortunes in the constituency.

Speaking in Damongo during his thank-you tour, Mr. Asiedu Nketia stated that persistent cracks and factionalism within the constituency have over the years cost the party significant political support.

According to him, constituencies that have prioritised unity and collective interest are currently enjoying stronger political gains, including producing Members of Parliament and contributing to the party’s success at the national level.

He noted that unlike such constituencies, Damongo currently has only a Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), while support from the constituency’s Member of Parliament allegedly benefits members of the opposition New Patriotic Party instead of strengthening the NDC base.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia therefore appealed to party members to put aside their differences and work together to rebuild trust, unity, and grassroots support ahead of future elections.

He stressed that unity remains a crucial factor in achieving electoral victory and maintaining the party’s political influence in the constituency.
