A women’s support group affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sisters of JDM, has donated 50 bags of rice and cash support to more than 200 widows in Damongo to enable them celebrate this year’s Eid-ul-Adha festivities.

The donation exercise was led by the National School Feeding Coordinator, Hajia Fati Forgor, who described the gesture as part of the group’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable women in society.

Sisters of JDM, a group formed in 2023 ahead of the general elections, played a significant role in mobilizing support for the NDC and the victory of President John Dramani Mahama.

According to the group, the donation was aimed at appreciating widows and ensuring they celebrate Eid-ul-Adha with dignity and joy.

Speaking during the presentation, Hajia Fati Forgor acknowledged the immense contributions made by women, particularly mothers and widows, towards the electoral success of the NDC.

She noted that their sacrifices and dedication to the party’s victory could not be overlooked.

She further appealed to party supporters to exercise patience, stressing that although the government has been in office for less than two years, efforts are being made to ensure that everyone who contributed to the party’s success benefits from opportunities under the current administration.

Hajia Forgor also assured the widows that the support would not end with the Eid donation, pledging that Sisters of JDM would continue to assist them in various aspects of life to help improve their living conditions.

She urged the beneficiaries to stay united and optimistic, assuring them that additional support initiatives and opportunities would soon be introduced for their benefit.
