Feed Ghana Brigade Passes Out 506 Agricultural Professionals; West Gonja Secures 20 Slots

A total of 506 agricultural professionals have passed out at the Ghana Police Academy in Accra as members of the Feed Ghana Brigade, marking a significant step in the government’s efforts to strengthen agricultural extension services and accelerate food production across the country.

The newly passed-out officers are expected to be deployed to various districts nationwide, where they will work directly with farmers to promote modern farming techniques, improve productivity, and enhance food security.

The West Gonja District secured 20 slots under the programme through the efforts of the Deputy National Coordinator of the Feed Ghana Programme, Mr. Peter Nuhu, with the support of the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Mr. Eric Opoku.

Under the initiative, each officer will be provided with a motorbike, a tablet, and monthly remuneration to support their field operations.

They will collaborate closely with the District Directorate of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) to deliver extension services, provide technical guidance, and help farmers adopt improved agricultural practices that will increase crop yields and overall productivity.

The Feed Ghana Brigade forms part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen the country’s agricultural extension system by increasing the number of frontline officers supporting farmers.

The initiative is expected to improve access to extension services, encourage the adoption of modern farming technologies, and contribute significantly to Ghana’s food production and food security objectives.
