The Savannah regional executive of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, has cautioned aspirants and supporters who have plans of destabilising tomorrow's Congress in the Daboya-Mankarigu constituency to shelve them.
Deputy Health Minister, Ahaji Mohammed Asei Seini is in a battle of his life to retain the seat against a deputy CEO of Small Scale & Industrial Minerals and former deputy Savannah regional minister Samiel Yeyu Tika.
With tensions rising in the constituency as both camps make last minute attempts to capture delegates, the party in the region is urging caution.
Speaking at a press conference attended by the District police commander at the constituency office in Daboya, the Savannah Regional chairman of the NPP, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana announced measures put in place to ensure security of the delegates and the process.
"Daboya is a security zone and we have picked intelligence that some people have plans to prevent some delegates from getting to Daboya to vote and as the regional chairman, I won't allow that to happen so the party has haired buses that will convey delegates from their communities under police escorts straight to voting center in Daboya and back."
"No one will be allowed to take pictures of their ballots. Anyone who will not follow the rules set out by the national party, I will not know what will happen to them."
Alhai Sulemana also said aspirants and their assigns will not be allowed to camp any delegates in tomorrow's election.
"No aspirant will camp any delegates. Aspirants are supposed to meet the delegates in their communities ahead of tomorrow so tomorrow is for voting and not campaigns."
