The Public Relations Officer of the Gonjaland Youth Association, Mutawu Habibu Borejinkpir, has issued a stern warning to the Member of Parliament for Damongo, Samuel Abdulai Jinapor to seize and desist from disrupting Gonja Programs.
Mr. Habibu said Mr. Jinapor has made it his stork in trade to disrupt programmes he is invited to in Gonjaland and said what he did at the durbar to mark the one year anniversary of the Overlord of Gonja, Yagbonwura Biikunuto Soale Jewu I in Damongo on Saturday will be his last.
He gave the warning in a video released on his social media platforms.
According to him, the MP, who is also the minister for Lands and Natural Resources forcefully took the microphone from the master of Ceremony of the durbar, called the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to address the durbar and leave.
The action, Mr. Muftawu said it would be his last and warned that he would be met in equal measure if it is repeated.
He described what Mr. Jinapor did as disrespectful to the Overlord.
Mr. Samuel Abdulai Jinapor on Saturday April 27 at the durbar of chiefs and people of Gonjaland to mark the 1st anniversary of the Yagbonwura and the 2024 Gonjaland Youth Association Congress, forcefully took a mic from the MC and invited the President to speak after which they left the durbar without listening to the speech of the Overlord and fomer President Mahama who were supposed to speak before the president.
The incident disrupted the event with many Gonjalanders condemning the action by the MP.
They wondered why the president would accept the invitation of the Overlord and attend the event if he didn't have the time to listen to what he had to tell him.
They asked if the President would do that to his kinsmen and chiefs, with many blaming the Damongo MP for orchestrating the incident.
