It appears the Member of Parliament for Damongo, Samuel Abdulai Jinapor has stopped the Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia from giving the King and Overlord of Gonja, Yagbonwura Biikunuto Soale Jewu I a tractor.
In doing so, Mr. Jinapor, who is the minister for Lands and Natural Resources, has suggested that the Savannah Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party has lied.
The MP on Damongo based Spear FM denied claims that the vice president intended to gift the Yagbonwura a tractor when he visits Damongo on Wednesday, 15th May 2024.
He said, "Bawumia never said he will give Yagbonwura a tractor , nor is he bringing a tractor to Yagbonwura."
"If Bawumia is bringing Yagbonwura a tractor, I will be the first to know," he added.
Mr. Jinapor said this in reaction to the member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi constituency Alhaji Yusif Sulemana who said in an audio that some people are rushing to give the Yagbonwura a tractor ahead of Former President John Dramani Mahama because they heard the latter has promised the Yagbonwura one.
Though he didn't mention the vice president or the NPP in the audio, Mr. Jinapor took it upon himself to defend and respond to the Bole MP by denying that the vice president planned to give the Overlord a tractor.
But the Savannah Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana, made it clear that the vice president promised the Yagbonwura a tractor and will deliver same.
Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana, also known as Prof. Kalamonia, in an audio on social media Tuesday morning, narrated how Vice President Bawumia promised the Yagbonwura a tractor.
"When Bawumia came to take the kanukowlwwura, he told the Yagbonwura that when the rains start, he will bring him a tractor and also told him that he will renovate the palace"
Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana was clear they the NPP first promised the Yagbonwura a tractor. His audio preceeded the comments by the Damongo MP.
Kashafmonline.com sources said the tractor Bawumia intends to gift the Yagbonwura is in Damongo.
Why is Mr. Samuel Abdulai Jinapor denying that there were any such plans?
Is Mr. Samuel Abdulai Jinapor blocking the tractor because the audio of the Bole MP has exposed their plan to use the Yagbonwura to embarrass John Dramani Mahama?
Is Mr. Samuel Abdulai Jinapor calling Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana, the Savannah Regional chairman of the NPP a liar?
Is Jinapor more interested in political gains rather being genuinely interested in helping uplift the reign of the revered King of Gonja?
