The Member of Parliament for the Bole-Bamboi constituency, Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, partnered with the Bolewura to inaugurate a football tournament in Bole, the constituency's capital.
Launched on Friday, May 10th, 2024, aims to promote harmony regardless of religious, ethnic, or political differences, utilizing sports as a unifying platform.
Alhaji Yusif emphasized the imperative of communal peace and tranquillity, highlighting sports as a catalyst for fostering mutual respect and understanding among residents.
He also announced plans to support the District Education Directorate's efforts in preparing for the upcoming inter-district sports competition and to organize a forthcoming volleyball tournament.
Representing the Bolewura, Mandari-Wura Iddi reiterated the paramount commitment of the traditional authority towards the initiative, affirming dedicated support to ensure its successful execution, citing the profound impact on the region's peace and stability.
Kanyenpe-wura Solomon Tampuri, present at the event, urged young players to draw inspiration from renowned footballer Ronaldinho of Brazil, encouraging them to showcase their talents regardless of their backgrounds.
A total of thirty teams from across the constituency have enrolled in this year's MPs Peace Tournament, slated to continue until Damba.
Notably, scouts from Karela United and other national entities will scout various match venues, seeking to unearth promising talents.
During the launch, the honourable MP presented thirty sets of jerseys and footballs to the organizing committee, allocated for distribution among participating teams.
He further pledged to cover all expenses related to team travel throughout the tournament duration.
