Vote Mahama and Garlus - Larabanga Chief Imam

The Chief Imam of Larabanga in the Savannah region, Alhaji Mumuni Mohammed Zankawah has urged constituents of Damongo to vote not just for John Dramani Mahama as president of Ghana but also for Adam Muntawakilu as the Member of Parliament for the constituency.

According to him, that is the only way the area can genuinely hope for comprehensive development.

Alhaji Zankawah made the call when a team of respected Chiefs paid a visit to him on behalf of Mr. John Mahama on Monday 5th August 2024.

The cleric declared victory for John Dramani Mahama and asked voters to vote Adam Muntawakilu to support the president's policies in parliament and made a strong case against voting skirt and blouse.

"It is the Members of parliament that are the strength of the president so it will not be good to vote skirt and blouse. So everyone should vote for Garlus and John Mahama, that is how we will get development. So by the grace of God victory is for both of them."

Sandapewura Alhaji Limuna Mohammed Muniru who led the delegation to the Chief Imam said the former president has sent them to come and request the Imams of Larabanga to pray for him and Hon. Garlus to win the upcoming elections just as they did for the founder of Gonjaland, Ndewura Sumaila Jakpa.

"John Mahama has relied on your prayers all his political life, we know that anytime the people of Larabanga prays for a Gonja, there is always victory, your forebears did for Jakpa and you have also been doing it for us."

"So John Dramani Mahama, your son, a pure Gonja has sent me with these Chiefs to come and request for your prayers once again, for protection and for guidance and for victory as well as wisdom to sell his message to Ghanaians."

Alhaji Limuna said John Mahama also requests prayers for Garlus to win the Damongo constituency seat.

"We know John Mahama will win the presidential elections but it will not be complete without Garlus in parliament so pray for him and support him as well."

Present at the visit was the Savannah regional Chairman of the NDC Alhaji Imoro, Hon. Adam Muntawakilu and some executives of the party in Damongo.
