Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, on Sunday, September 22, 2024, cut the sod for the construction of a 500-seater ultra-modern sports facility in Bole, in the Savannah Region.

During the ceremony, Mahama criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP), accusing them of being selective in the allocation of astro turf projects across the country.

"The neglect of Bole in terms of sports facilities is a clear indication of the NPP government's bias towards certain regions and districts," Mahama said in a brief address to the media.

He emphasized that an NDC government would ensure the equitable distribution of resources, particularly in the area of sports development, across all regions of Ghana.

Mahama reiterated that youth and sports development would be a priority for his administration, should he be elected.

"The next NDC government will focus on building quality sports facilities in neglected districts, so we can produce the next Abedi Peles and Mohammed Kudus," he stated.

He also urged the youth of Bole and the entire nation to support the NDC in the upcoming elections, adding that the party has their best interests at heart.

Mahama reminded voters to look out for number eight on the presidential ballot, reinforcing his commitment to building a better Ghana for all.

The 500-seater sports facility, when completed, will include a modern football pitch, basketball and volleyball courts, badminton and table tennis courts, washroom facilities, and a large swimming pool.

The contractor is expected to complete the project before the December polls.
