Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has inaugurated a five-member Audit Committee to strengthen internal controls, monitor finances, and ensure compliance.
The committee, chaired by Hon. Gladys Gillian Naadu Tetteh, was officially inaugurated on March 16, 2025.
Speaking at the inauguration, GWL Managing Director Mr. Adam Mutawakilu reaffirmed President John Dramani Mahama’s call for public servants to uphold accountability.
He highlighted the committee’s role in promoting transparency and ethical leadership, stressing the need to lead by example as the President prepares to introduce a code of conduct for individuals in positions of trust.
He highlighted on the goal of GWL, which is to ensure continuous operation with integrity and transparency in the discharge of its core mandate of delivering portable water.
"We must be proactive in our governance processes, and this committee will play crucial role in this direction," he added.
Administering the official induction, Dr. Eric Oduro Osae, Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), emphasized the committee’s dual responsibility of oversight and advisory.
He urged members to support management in implementing audit recommendations and to conduct regular internal reviews ahead of external audits.
