Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Salisu Bi-Awurbi Esq., has vowed to take decisive action to end the prolonged conflict between Lukula-Mempeasem and Norgbenu, ensuring lasting peace in the area.
Speaking to the press after visiting the affected communities, Hon. Bi-Awurbi expressed concern over the destruction caused by the dispute, including the burning of homes and loss of lives.
He assured residents that those responsible for the violence would face the full force of the law.
"Parts of the Daboya-Mankarigu constituency have experienced prolonged conflicts, with Lukula-Mempeasem and Norgbenu being at the center of these disputes."
"These tensions have resulted in tragic losses, but President Mahama has emphasized the need for unity and development. It is important that all stakeholders work together to restore peace."
The minister also called on telecommunications service providers to establish a mast in the area to improve internet connectivity.
He noted that enhanced digital infrastructure would support security agencies in monitoring and addressing conflict-related activities more effectively.
Authorities continue to engage relevant stakeholders in efforts to bring lasting stability to the region.
